Important PSA:

The TRUST works closely with Georgia Overdose Prevention and because of this we are updated on the most recent findings regarding illicit substance use in Georgia. As of July 2024, Xylazine has been found in the illicit fentanyl in our state.

What does this mean?

Xylazine is an animal grade tranquilizer that is commonly added by dealers to make manufacturing illicit opioids less expensive.

This substance is known to tranquilize people who use it. IF YOU REVERSE AN OPIOID OVERDOSE WITH NARCAN (NALOXONE): please give rescue breaths until the person who has overdosed wakes up or until EMS arrives.

Remember Georgia's amnesty law! It protects both the patient and the person who calls 911. Don't Run! Call 911!

Xylazine is also known to cause wounds to heal slowly or not at all. If you have wounds please keep them clean and covered and seek medical attention if they become infected.

You can also test your substances for Xylazine by using test strips that come in our harm reduction kits. To request these kits please come to OATH and inquire in person, or send an email to trustpartnership.pbw@gmail.com.
